"I met Shepard in January, 2022, and we got to know each other over the following months as we searched for a house or condo in the Seattle area. I was moving from out of state which meant that Shepard needed to make several accommodations on my behalf. Among the things Shepard did to make the "remote buying" experience work well: 1) he was patient!, 2) he created narrated video walkthroughs of properties to show and tell me what the listing couldn't, 3) he thoughtfully engaged in a number of text/email/phone exchanges as we refined the search, and 4) he involved my adult son (who already lived in Seattle) in tours. There were times I felt embarrassed to ask Shepard to look at yet another property, but Shepard took it upon himself to tour listings even without my asking. It took nine months (emphasis: Shepard is patient!), and ultimately we found and closed on a very desirable condo in downtown Seattle. As a side note: Through this process I also learned a little about Shepard's background. "I am pleased to write this review about Shepard who represented us when we bought our home in University Place, WA, in the summer of 2022. I would declare Shepard as a super quintessential professional. He is not a typical broker who would simply open the doors of the houses for you and stay quiet having no answers to your questions, or google it at the moment. He is well informed and would alert us of the pros and cons of both the structural and functional aspects of the building. I was impressed when I saw him walking inside the house barefoot. When asked why he did not wear the shoe covers or socks, he said he wanted to "feel" the house! He demonstrated that cared about our living in our new home rather than remaining focused on selling the house to us by any such means as speaking highly about the house, the owners and/or the neighborhood. He employed his twenty plus years of experience of purchasing (and managing) several independent single-family homes and looked carefully at the various aspects of the building, the neighborhood (safety, schools, flood situation, if any, etc.) as well as at strategizing the purchase.
